Project Location: Knowle
Bonhams Knowle is located in a Grade II Listed 16th Century converted farmhouse. Works included both external and internal refurbishment and alteration to provide new entrance and meeting area, valuation rooms, an on-site photographic studio and staff facilities. The Conservation Officer praised the use of modern materials like the frameless glass doors and screens which maximise the light from the existing bay windows, but also to allow a visitor to read the building's history. The oak frame was cleaned internally removing the black paint and revealing details like the carpenters chisel markings. Bonhams were able to continue to provide a full valuation service whilst works progressed. Completed in late 2013, Henry Sandon MBE from the Antiques Roadshow opened the premises.
